At this years Super Bowl, singer and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson will make her first public appearance since the tragic murders of her mother, brother, and nephew as she performs the national anthem.
Hudson's Super Bowl appearance was first reported by E! Online and later confirmed by NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy.
Hudson will join the likes of Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, Luther Vandross, Vanessa Williams and Mariah Carey when she performs the national anthem for the 43rd annual Super Bowl.
Other artists scheduled to perform at this years Super Bowl include Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Bandwho will be performing as part of the half-time show.
The 27-year-old actress/singer has seen a number of highlights in her career after her stint on "American Idol". Hudson has appeared in several movies including Dreamgirls, Sex And The City: The Movie, and The Secret Life Of Bees.
Her performance in Dreamgirls even led to an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
As far as her music career, Hudson released her self-titled debut album on September 30, 2008. The album received four Grammy nominations and sold over 500,000 copies worldwide in the first six weeks.
Late last year, rumors of a potential inauguration performance by Hudson began to circulate but were never confirmed although Hudson did perform at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in August of last year.
